1. Introduction

Foxen Forensic Laboratories ("we," "our," or "us") operates the ParaNote Pro mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our App, and describes your rights under applicable privacy laws including GDPR and CCPA.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Email address (used to create and manage your account)

• Case notes, observations, witness statements, and evidence descriptions you type into the App

• Voice recordings you create within the App

• Location information you optionally attach to notes

Information collected automatically:

• Device type and operating system (collected by our service providers)

• Subscription and purchase history (collected by RevenueCat)

• App usage and session data (collected by Supabase)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

• Create and authenticate your account

• Store and sync your case documentation securely across sessions

• Process and manage your subscription payments

• Provide customer support

• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

 

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL. Voice recordings and files are stored in Supabase cloud storage. Access to your data is restricted by row-level security — you can only access data you created.

 

5. Third-Party Service Providers

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and case data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days. Voice recordings and files are deleted from storage upon account deletion.

 

7. Your Rights

All users:

• Access the data we hold about you

• Request correction of inaccurate data

• Request deletion of your data

• Export your data

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

European residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. You have the right to data portability. Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (providing the App service you subscribed to).

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.

 

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where required by law, by email or in-app notification.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ParaNote Pro mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

 

2. Description of Service

ParaNote Pro is a mobile documentation tool designed to assist users in recording observations, evidence, witness statements, and voice notes in the field. The App is intended as a documentation aid only and does not constitute legal advice or guarantee the admissibility of any information recorded within it.

 

3. Subscription and Billing

• Access to ParaNote Pro requires a paid subscription of $0.99 per month

• Subscriptions are billed monthly through the Apple App Store

• Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period

• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings

• We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods except as required by law

• Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice

 

4. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

• All activity that occurs under your account

• Ensuring the accuracy of information you enter into the App

• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction when using the App

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App

• Use the App to store or transmit malicious code

 

5. Data and Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of all case notes, recordings, and content you create within the App. By using the App, you grant Foxen Codeworks a limited license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the App service to you.

 

6. Professional Use Disclaimer

ParaNote Pro is a documentation tool. It is not a substitute for professional judgment, proper investigative procedures, or legally required documentation standards. Foxen Codeworks makes no warranty that documentation created within the App will meet the evidentiary standards of any jurisdiction or court. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their documentation practices comply with applicable laws and agency policies.

 

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Foxen Codeworks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of case information, or any professional or legal consequences resulting from reliance on the App. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

 

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Foxen Codeworks, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

 

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

 

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Cobb County, Georgia.

 

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.
